FOUNDER’S NOTE

5 saal

I lived in the city for five years after my CS degree. That’s when I tasted “commercial” ghee for the first time — and understood what the world had lost.

I didn't start a brand. I went home.

I’m a Pahadi from Maitoli village in Berinag, Uttarakhand. In our home, keeping cows was never a business — it was a way of life. The grass our cows graze has never seen a drop of chemical fertilizer.

City ghee lacked aroma, lacked freshness, lacked soul. So I came back to bring what the mountains never lost — to your kitchen, with a lab report to prove it.

Questions, Answered Honestly

Graininess is a purity marker. Slow bilona churning lets natural fat crystals form. Factory ghee is homogenized smooth — ours is not a factory ghee.

Three ways: the NABL lab report for your exact batch, the raw process video on our Bilona page, and a batch number on every jar tracing to the village and date.

It takes roughly 25–30 litres of whole A2 milk and three days of work to make one kilo. You’re paying for what milk actually costs when nature sets the volume.

12 months unopened, 6+ months after opening when stored cool and dry with a dry spoon. Ghee is naturally shelf-stable.
